Kukuli Velarde (b. 1962, Cusco, Peru) is an artist whose practice explores identity, history and cultural memory.

Working across ceramics, sculpture, painting and installation, she draws from pre-Columbian traditions, colonial iconography and religious imagery. Her practice introduces humour, irony and social commentary into historical and contemporary visual languages.

Velarde has exhibited internationally, including presentations at the Museum of Arts and Design, New York; the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI), Lima; and institutions and galleries throughout the Americas and Europe.
